* Willam and Hannah lived in the Ashbourne area and there is a memorial plaque to them in the Ashbourne church.
* They also owned a lot of land on Hindmarsh Island, and as of 1978, some descendants still did. The large Captain Charles Sturt monument is on Hindmarsh Island and was built on property owned by William Maidment who bought it in 1864 from Charles Price.
